Spectral Evolution Responsible for the Transition from Positive Lags to Negative Lags in Gamma-Ray Bursts

چکیده

It was well known that most of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are dominated by positive spectral lags, while a small fraction GRBs show negative lags. However, Wei et al. firstly identified well-defined transition from lags to in GRB 160625B, and then got robust limits on possible violation Lorentz Invariance (LIV) based the observation. Recently, such has been found three different emission episodes \thisgrb Gunapati al., which provides us great opportunity investigate whether results LIV-induced observed Our analysis shows LIV model can not be compatible with current observations, whereas, only evolution induced could responsible for transition. So, also explain lag 190530A.

Spectral Lags of Gamma-Ray Bursts From Ginga and BATSE.

The analysis of spectral lag between energy bands, which combines temporal and spectral analyses, can add strict constraints to gamma-ray burst (GRB) models. In previous studies, the lag analysis focused on the lags between channel 1 (25-57 keV) and channel 3 (115-320 keV) from the Burst and Transient Source Experiment (BATSE). In this Letter, we analyzed the cross-correlation average lags (inc...

On the Spectral Lags of the Short Gamma-Ray Bursts⋆

We present a detail analysis on the spectral lags of the short gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and compare them with that of the long GRBs by using the CGRO/BATSE GRB Catalog. Our sample includes 308 short GRBs and 1008 long GRBs. The light curves of these GRBs are in 64 ms time bin and they have at least one long and intense pulse, which satisfies δT ≥ 0.512 seconds at c = 1σ and cmax ≥ 6σ, where δT i...

Spectral Lags of Gamma-Ray Bursts from Primordial Black Hole (PBH) Evaporations

Primordial Black Holes (PBHs), which may have been created in the early Universe, are predicted to be detectable by their Hawking radiation. PBHs with an initial mass of ∼ 5×1014 g should be expiring today with a burst of high energy particles. Evaporating PBHs in the solar neighborhood are candidate Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) progenitors. We propose spectral lag, which is the temporal delay betwe...

Revisiting the characteristics of the spectral lags in short gamma - ray bursts

In this paper, we restudy the spectral lag features of short bright gamma-ray bursts (T90 < 2.6s) with a BATSE time-tagged event (TTE) sample including 65 single pulse bursts. The cross-correlation technique is adopted to measure the lags between two different energy channels. Meanwhile, we also make an investigation of the characteristics of the ratios between the spectral lag and the full wid...

Spectral Lags and the Lag-Luminosity Relation: An Investigation with Swift BAT Gamma-ray Bursts

Spectral lag, the time difference between the arrival of high-energy and low energy photons, is a common feature in Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs). Norris et al. 2000 reported a correlation between the spectral lag and the isotropic peak luminosity of GRBs based on a limited sample. More recently, a number of authors have provided further support for this correlation using arbitrary energy bands of va...
